As you may have noticed, I'm really not very good at doing journals.
But here we go anyway.
Considering starting up commissions to make money for FFXIV: ARR subscriptions for the husband and I, at least for a couple of months. Still mostly waiting for WildStar, but as that is being pushed back until Spring 2014 (which to be honest, I was expecting), we need something else to play in the meantime. I'm very much looking forward to the Everquest Next Landmark coming out this fall, that should be a lot of fun to play around with, and perhaps a good chance for a bit of roleplay.
Final Fantasy XIV was one of those games we got and quickly dropped again back when it first launched. While it' still not a game I see myself playing forever, I do think they have made a LOT of positive and impressive changes to the game, and it's now quite entertaining. I do love the character creation. While there's a limited number of options for most things, such as faces, the color variety and added flair means that you can create some very varied characters if you put a bit of thought into it.
What I'm not a huge fan of is that while a lot of the gear is very well designed, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of different sets, which is always a bit disappointing. The dye system is not very impressive either, but at least it lets you not run around as a clown... Most of the time. Because there's still stuff you can't dye, which I don't think I'll ever understand.
But yeah, to go back to commissions, it would probably be simple, full figure character display kind of things, for somewhere around 20-30 dollars. I'm very bad at figuring out how to price things, and part of me keep thinking "Don't kid yourself, why would anyone buy anything from you anyway?"
But even if I can just get enough for our subscriptions, that would be a plus currently. I guess we'll see.
